I know a lot of you have been waiting a while for the announcement of the dates & locations of the sessions. I am so sorry it has taken me so long! I have been busy shooting holiday sessions already and I have the following dates reserved for mini-sessions which will include a set of custom holiday cards (24 plus envelopes). I have only a few weekends left for a regular full session but more open for weekdays. Keep in mind, with mini-sessions, I do not get to focus on each child and relationships like I do for regular sessions. These are much shorter sessions where the purpose of the sessions is to get some beautiful images for your holiday cards. They include up to 5 people ($20 per additional person/pet) and include your in-studio consultation, ordering session and you will receive a blog post & facebook tagging.

These are discounted sessions and you will LOVE your cards! I get so many compliments every year about how much friends and family love them!

Have you seen all the cards? Go here to the page on the holiday cards. They are all customizable too with text, colors and sometimes the number of images on the cards.

I have a special place in my heart for grandparents… I am pretty jealous of those whose grandparents were able to be at their weddings, birth of their children, and just around to enjoy life with them. My grandparents all passed away a long time ago and I was pretty close with my maternal grandmother (named our daughter after her) who passed away when right before I got engaged…. I love seeing my parents and my inlaws interact with our daughter and see that they are close… it just makes me warm inside knowing that Lilly is so close to them and they have this special bond.

Ok enough of my own personal sappiness, how does this relate to you? For one thing, in this digital age, there are not many memories that children will be left with once those cd’s all die containing your pictures. Then what? How will they show their kids who their great grandma and grandpa were? I am just as guilty with my own personal pictures… they sit on cd’s and the harddrive (backed up!) and wait for me to do something with them!  The shoemakers kid has no shoes, right?

Do something nice for this Grandparents Day (September 12th)… schedule your session in the studio which will celebrate grandparents… the love they have for their grandkids, the bond the kids have with them… I know grandparents– all they want is pictures of them WITH their grandkids.

Due to the size of my studio, I am only able to hold a maximum of 2 grandparents and up to 3 grandchildren. The session includes 2 grandparents and 1 grandchild. Please contact me in terms of rates for adding on others. Would you like the whole family to have a session? We can schedule that instead of this and it will be on-location.  This session also includes an 8×10 art print but additional products will be available at your ordering session if you wish.

I know… they seriously just got out of school it seems (although many of you moms might be counting down the days until they head back to school…) but here in San Diego–kids go back to school around the end of August… that’s around the corner! You know those boring school portraits you get at school? Why not do a fun back to school session where you will receive special discounted mini-session pricing and (2) 5×7 prints? It’s way cute for those kidlets starting kindergarten too! The cost is $75+tax (normally that’s the cost for prints!) and you must pay $20 of the session fee when reserving your spot.

Please keep in mind this is geared toward kids 3 1/2ish- 10ish. Each additional child is $15. Sessions are best done as a single subject.

So reserve your spot for the mini sessions on August 15th before it fills up… and remember to bring your childs backpack & lunch box!

It’s back! You all asked for it again and I decided why not. We had so much fun at the last Free Photos for Facebook I decided to do it one more time in 2010! This time, I have different backdrops (gray will be the standard) to chose from. You will receive a complimentary photo on facebook tagged of you… you MUST be a fan of Stills by Hill Photography on Facebook to take advantage of this offer! You will be able to use this image on facebook, twitter, myspace and other websites such as jdate, eharmony, match.com, etc… and it’s free!

You need to reserve your spot. Sessions are about 10 minutes long and are for single subjects or a small group UP to 4 at the most. Kids will need to be photographed with parents.

Along with the complimentary image tagged of you on facebook, you will be able to purchase (at special pricing) additional files or prints.

It’s here! Father’s Day is RIGHT around the corner! I am happy to announce “Daddy’s Little Boo” mini-sessions for Father’s Day to take place May 26th here at the studio! You can have your session indoors or outdoors at the brick wall (just let me know when you book)

What a great gift to give Dad or Grandpa for Father’s Day! When was the last time YOU had a picture done with YOUR father? Remember this is not just for kids!

There’s a TOTALLY cute new line that is out with little girls’ items and I can’t WAIT to get some for my Lilly! Maybe even for my nieces too

There’s a club here in San Diego (not sure if it’s other places too?) called the New Life Club which is a group of local Holocaust survivors and their families. I was asked by them to photograph their anniversary dinner of the 65th anniversary and it was so amazing to see so many people there who have lived through SUCH history! The stories these people have to tell is just amazing and I was honored to meet (again) David Faber who wrote an amazing book I got while I was in high school about his story. The event was put on by the group along with Gussie Zaks (she and her late husband, Mike Zaks, were also in the holocaust) and I loved meeting everyone!

Getting all the survivors together for a picture was sure a treat… so there’s a first generation picture and a second generation

You are a mom. You work HARD. You get little sleep, little time for yourself and spend your “free time” wondering what “free time” even is anymore. This will be my 2nd Mothers Day and I am so thankful I am having a little tea party here in the studio for moms to come enjoy themselves from 10am until 12pm on Tuesday, May 11th. There’s no cost and I have a play room for kids to play in while you enjoy your tea.

I attended and photographed Jammy Jam 2010 at the PortoVista Hotel back in February and how much fun was that?! It was a FUN night of a grown up sleep over where Timeless Salon came in and did hair and makeup, ELF cosmetics came in and donated their makeup, Stills by Hill (me!) did boudoir photography sessions, Passion Parties had their fun products for sale, Meltology had a beautiful set up and did hand and foot treatments, and ViretueIMC planned the event! I can’t wait for the second one August 13– I will be doing complimentary mini-headshots during then and offering a SPECIAL JammyJam promotion ONLY to people who attend!
